HISTORY WITH DOGS. In
1974 we purchased our first show Schipperke puppy, joined Richland Kennel Club and began showing in
both obedience and conformation. Since then we've shown Schips throughout the U.S. and
British Columbia while moving every 2 1/2 years before Grant retired
from the Army Corps of Engineers as a Lieutenant Colonel. Now settled in Olympia,
Washington, we are members of Nisqually Kennel Club (NKC) (an AKC-member
club), Schipperke Club of Puget Sound,
Washington State Obedience and Training Club and, since 1974, the Schipperke Club of
America (SCA) .
Grant served two terms as
President of Nisqually Kennel Club (NKC), an AKC member club located in Olympia,
Washington. He chaired four NKC all breed shows and obedience trials and also served
over the years in most other show committee positions. NKC's shows now draw
between 1800 and 2000
entries.
Grant served four years on
SCA's Board. He is also former President and a founding member of the Schipperke Club of
Puget Sound.
