HISTORY WITH DOGS. In 1974 we purchased our first show Schipperke puppy, joined Richland Kennel Club and began showing in both obedience and conformation. Since then we've shown Schips throughout the U.S. and British Columbia while moving every 2 1/2 years before Grant retired from the Army Corps of Engineers as a Lieutenant Colonel.  Now settled in Olympia, Washington, we are or have been members of Nisqually Kennel Club (NKC) (an AKC-member club located in Olympia),  Schipperke Club of Puget Sound, Washington State Obedience and Training Club and, since 1974, the Schipperke Club of America (SCA). Ten Nisqually KC annual Breeders of Merit awards have been awarded to Blumoon Schipperkes.

More than 50 Blumoon Schipperkes have won AKC championships or other titles.  Notable among these champions are Am/Can/Int Ch Can OTCh U-UD Midnight Meadows Cinderella UD HIC CGC ROM-X HOF ("Cinder") (aka Blumoon's Cinderella in the UKC Registry), at the time the most titled Schipperke in breed history.  Cinder was the top obedience Schip in both the U.S. and Canada in 1991 and 1992, and top 10-obedience ranked for 5 years.  A Cinder grandson, Ch. Blumoon's A Cut Above BIS BISS HOF ("Bob") was SCA's top show dog in 1997 and 1998, an all breed Best In Show and multiple Best in Specialty Show winner in addition to 12 Non-Sporting Group wins and 62 Group placements in 3 years.   Ch Blumoon's Bearbriar Fox and Ch Blumoon's BB O'Nipocin are also on SCA's Register of Merit.

Anita in an internationally know illustrator, sculptor and painter.  She illustrated the first official Illustrated Guide to the Schipperke Standard for the SCA. She has also won a Best in Show award in Germany under four fine arts judges, among many other awards. Look for her work under "afredricks" or "a'verdick-fredricks".  Anita served in many committee capacities in the NKC and was also a founding member of the Schipperke Club of Puget Sound where she served as both Vice President and Treasurer.

Grant served two terms as President of NKC and chaired four NKC all breed shows and obedience trials. He also served four years on SCA's Board.  He is also former President and a founding member of the Schipperke Club of Puget Sound.

Inquiries about Blumoon puppies and occasionally older Schipperkes welcome.
